Southwest UK

Last weekend we had a family get-away to the Southwest coast of the UK. Our goal of the weekend was for it to be an especially fun weekend for the girls. There are countless little towns we want to explore, so we started just south of Bristol (cannot wait to get to the very southwest tip one day :-). We stayed in a town that reminded me of the little town I grew up in. We had a blast, at what we called our 'Family Camp Long Weekender'.

Saturday morning, we started our adventure on the 7 mile beach. It was really nice- honestly, the finest and nicest sand Jeremy and I have ever been on. We played on the beach all morning, and had so much fun together.

In the afternoon, we went back to our resort, which reminded Jeremy and I of summer camps. They had scheduled activities you could join or other activities you could just take part in. Our first stop was the Croc party. The girls really enjoyed it.

Then the rest of Saturday and Sunday we did just about every age appropriate activity we could take part in. Pics are below- minus the pool and water slide pics :-) Enjoy!

Sunday night, we went to dinner, and then we decided we wanted to go for a drive to see a bit more of the west, so the girls drifted off to sleep, and we drove to Exeter. We actually really enjoyed the city, and definitely plan on going back. Parliament Street apparently is the smallest street in the world, so J & I (at separate times, or course) took a walk down it. We started on the side that was 4.5 feet wide and walked to the 2.5 feet wide part- I must say, it definitely felt like the walls were closing in on you :-)

J took this past Monday off, and on our way home we took the girls to Wookey Hole where apparently the best UK caves are. We had such a lovely day exploring and playing. Wookey Hole also had lots of random activities, which included a dinosaur park, paper making, lots of fun indoor play areas for the girls to play on, a mini circus (that was actually entertaining), antique penny games, mirror mazes, putt putt, etc. Fun, fun times together.
