Kew Gardens and Kew Palace

Kew Gardens is a botanical garden that has been on my list of "must do" since we have arrived. We were just waiting for the perfect day, and this past Saturday seemed to be just that.

Kew Gardens have been around since the 1700's. King George III's favorite family home and the smallest English palace, the Kew Palace is on the grounds and is quite nice.

Xstrata Treetop Walkway
The girls were a bit apprehensive at first to go to the top and "walk from tree to tree," however, once they did get up, they really enjoyed it. The walkway is 18 meters, creating walkway from treetop to treetop, and views that we could see the London Eye from where we were.

Badger Set
The badger set was another favorite for the girls. It is basically this huge mound of what looks like dirt (and they have done a really good job of allowing natural plants and things to grow up so it just looks like a huge mound. If you dare ;-) to go through the little tunnels you will find what would be a badger's home. The girls loved crawling through, and J&I had fun making our way through it as well :-)

Creepy Crawlers
Girls loved all the play equipment.

The Gardens
Absolutely beautiful. Kaytlin, even had a little guy following her, hoping for some food :-)

The Redwood Forest
The girls loved this area. They were dunking under trees, playing hide-and-seek, and they marveled at just how big these trees were. They had so many questions-it was fun to just listen to them.

Cream Tea
We are learning so much about the British culture and one of our favorite things is tea time! There is high tea, where you sit for a meal and have a three tier serving tray with sandwich on one tray, scones on another, and a dessert on the last one. Of course this goes along with tea (hot tea that is). Then there is cream tea, which means just scones served with jam and cream, and then tea. Scones here are delicious!
