Stratford-upon-Avon

William Shakespeare most definitely comes to mind when you think about Stratford-upon-Avon. Being so close we could not pass up the opportunity to walk to streets and see the sights of Stratford-upon-Avon. Here are a few highlights:

William Shakespear's birthplace, childhood home and where he spent the first few years with his wife, Anne Hathaway, and where his father had his glove making workshop.



The white and black planked building is now a hotel, but use to be just two houses-a reminder of what the wealthy during the tudor times could build. The Guild Chapel is also pictured below, with the chapel dating back to the 13th century and the nave and tower dating back the the 15th century.

This is the oldest pub and we got to eat there- delicious!

Stratford had so much more to offer...Nash's House (Dr Nash and Shakespeare's granddaughter were married), Holy Trinity Church (where Shakespeare is buried), and much, much more...
