SPAIN

We have spent the past 10 days exploring the wonderful country of Spain. Here is an idea of what we were able to experience.

BARCELONA

Our first stop was Barcelona. We decided the best way to see Barcelona was to grab the tourist hop on/hop off bus since the city is so spread out. I have to admit, I am so glad we did.

Of course, KK is just like mommy and loves the beach, so first stop....
Then we were off the next two days exploring the city. More beaches, Christopher Columbus Statue, La Rambla, World Trade Center, MNAC, 1992 Olympic Game Sites, Tibidado, the port, museums, famous squares, parks, etc. The list goes on and on.

Daddy of course took us to the nice shopping district the day it is closed! haha

One of the most impressive cathedrals I have ever seen is the Sagrada Familia. In 1882 the construction began and is NOT expected to be completed until 2026-2028ish!!!! Still a magnificent site.

Palau Guell
This palace was one of Antony Gaudi's works. Truly a must see in Barcelona- pictures don't do it justice. It was fascinating to walk through his work and to realize all that went into his creation- he wasn't only an architect, but a structural designer, and artist and that was so evident in this palace. To know a mind like his- wow, what a gift.

SEVILLE
In the Andalusia (southern) part of Spain you find the magnificent city of Seville. The city itself is a bit slower, has amazing gorgeous building and sites and streets that we loved getting lost in just to see what we could find. Seville was the first port that Christopher Columbus stopped at when returning from the New world. It is a city rich with history and culture. I highly suggest visiting it.

Our favorite was the Seville Cathedral- 3rd largest in the world. Again, pictures do not even come close to doing this cathedral justice, but it will give you a glimpse. Christopher Columbus' tomb is here.

Our final stop in Spain was Madrid- and oh, how it stole our hearts!

Family pics and pics of our posers...

Each one of our Spanish destination was in itself amazing. They were all SO different. We love it when we can go to a country and see the multitudes of its personality, the richness of its culture and the beauty of God's creation through the people and your surroundings and Spain most definitely did not disappoint in the least bit!
