Charlotte and Brad are ENGAGED!

That is right boys, eat your hearts out!!! Brad has snatched up one of the most eligible bachorlette's in TX!!!!!! We have been waiting and praying for this moment for some time now. We are SO excited for them, and cannot wait to get home to celebrate with them. For those of you who do not know them... Charlotte is basically Jeremy's sister. Being that he had no sister's growing up, she is the closest thing he has to one. They have known each other and hung out for as long as they can remember (since they were like 3 or 4 years old) and well Jeremy "protects" her and loves her like a little sister. I met Charlotte in college, and we really have gotten to know each other and grown close since Jeremy and I have been dating. We both love her very much, and consider her family. When she met Brad we all knew he was something special. As Jeremy says, "Who could not like him?"

The short version of the engagement...
Anyway, on Friday Brad tried to throw Charlotte off (since she is so good at figuring things out) and he took her to a nice dinner and did some really sweet and nice things for her. By the end of the night when any girl would expect the ring, there was nothing (Ha Ha... go Brad!). The next day, he started the day off by delivering her a letter (to her hotel room, they were staying in Austin), that had a clue where her first stop for the day would be. Brad had arranged for her day to start with a nice massage. Once that was done, he had another little note, picked her up and took her to this beautiful park in Austin where they had a picnic together. They got to talk and enjoy themselves there but there was more... After the picnic, Brad took Charlotte to a pottery painting shop (if you know Charlotte you know she loves crafty things, and this is perfect for her). They painted some pottery, and were off again. Brad told her that they had to go back to a hotel (a different one from the previous) and change before dinner. So they went in and got ready for dinner. They went to dinner at a really nice restaurant, and then were off, but this time in a horse drawn carriage, that took them back to hotel. They walked into the hotel, where the concierge gave Brad an envelope and told them they had to change his room. So they went up to check out the "new room" and when they opened the door there were candles, and rose petals everywhere, OH! and there was music playing, but not just any music, all of "their" songs. Brad escorts Charlotte into the room, and proceeds to read scripture to her and give her gifts representing each scripture (from a Willow Tree figurine, to a new bible with her soon to be new name on it, to washing her feet, etc.). Finally, he escorts her to the balcony (this hotel has a gorgeous view), where there were more rose petals and candles and he got on his knee and proposed!!!!. Of course, she said YES!!!!

***This is the "short" version, and if I got anything wrong, sorry Brad and Charlotte!

WOOO HOOO!!!! We are absolutely thrilled for them, and we cannot wait until July 17th, 2009.. their wedding date!

(I have been waiting for pictures to post this, but as soon as Charlotte gets a chance to send the pics, I will post them :-)
